As you’ll already know, as a site gets more popular and more indexed in Search Engines, the more spam heads towards the site. So far, we haven’t had too much of a problem with it as we use numerous techniques to catch them as they are registering or as they are posting.

We have added a few more technique to slow down spammers, so if you accidentally get caught in the anti-spam trap, please contact us.

When you first register to Sound Unsound, you will be put into a user group called “Probation”. This user group has restrictions in place until you have made 5 posts (once you have made 5 posts, you will be upgraded within an hour to a new unrestricted user group). The restrictions of the “Probation” user group  are:

1. You are unable to use a signature
2. You are unable to vote in polls / create polls
3. You can only store 5 Private Message and only send 1 pm at a time
4. You are unable to email members

Also we have blocked 20,000+ known spam domains! If you think your  email domain has been incorrectly blocked, please contact us. You will know if your email domain has been banned as you will get a message as you submit your registration.

These restricitions are only in place to make the forum a better place and reduce the amount of spam
